Remarks	This along with the Fork and October Puddle set a pattern for later painting.  The Meeting was a simple idea about where soil meets the edge of a pond.  It also reflects long standing interests in geometry and form.  As some of these works are, it was executed swiftly in an afternoon.  This seems a necessary element contibuting to their 'ease' and freshness.
