Remarks	Burying pets in the back garden can be a sorry ritual, especially when children have lost their interest in the welfare of the rat, hamster or bird. Also I am not quite at ease with people having 'pets'. As years went by I increasingly felt a need to provide small furry innocents with fitting burials - flowers, a prayer and a large stone as a marker. This all put me in mind of 'the unknown soldier'; the many animals that are wanted and then forgotten.
