- Collages
Collage is an interesting
halfway house between painting, sculpture and the material virtues of
craft traditions like textiles or ceramics. It provides a different
editorial route for either the preliminary stages of composition or
alternatively a great way to freshen work that has gone seriously wrong. I
feel I don't use it as much as I should and I am certain many others don't
either. Perhaps it has too many associations with childrens' art in
schools or hobbyist art etc. Whatever, the challenges it contains are as
serious as any other form.
